Aftercare
How to look after your treatment so it lasts and heals beautifully. Tap your treatment to jump straight to it.
This is general guidance. Always follow any extra advice your therapist gave you. If you are worried about a reaction, contact us, and for anything serious speak to your GP or pharmacist.
Lash extensions
- Keep lashes completely dry for the first 24 hours: no steam, saunas, swimming or hot showers on your face.
- Avoid oil-based products around the eyes, including cleansers, make-up removers and eye creams.
- Clean your lashes every day with a lash-safe cleanser and brush them gently with a clean spoolie.
- Do not rub, pull or pick at your lashes, and avoid mascara and eyelash curlers.
- Try to sleep on your back or side, not face down in the pillow.
- Book infills every 2 to 3 weeks. At least half of your set needs to be on for an infill.
Lash lift (LVL) and lash tint
- Keep lashes dry and away from steam for the first 24 hours.
- No mascara, eye make-up or rubbing your eyes for 24 hours.
- Avoid sleeping face down on the first night.
- After 24 hours, a little lash serum or conditioner helps keep lashes healthy.
Brow lamination, tint and henna brows
- Keep brows dry for 24 hours: no washing, sweating, steam or swimming.
- No make-up, creams or oils on the brows for 24 hours.
- Brush your brows into shape each morning with a clean spoolie.
- After 24 hours, a nourishing brow oil or serum helps keep laminated brows healthy.
- Avoid sunbeds and strong sun on the brows to help the colour last.
Microblading and powder brows
- Your brows will look darker and bolder for the first week. This is normal and softens as they heal.
- Gently blot any fluid with a clean tissue for the first day.
- Keep brows dry for 7 to 10 days: no swimming, saunas, steam or heavy sweating.
- Do not pick, scratch or rub. Let any flakes fall away naturally.
- No make-up, creams or facial products on the brows while they heal.
- Avoid sunbeds and direct sun for at least 2 weeks, and use SPF on brows once fully healed.
- Come back for your touch-up session as booked. Some patchiness before the touch-up is normal.
Lip blush (lip colour)
- Your lips may be swollen and the colour very bright for the first few days. This settles as they heal.
- Apply a thin layer of the balm you were advised to use, with clean hands, several times a day.
- Drink through a straw for the first few days and avoid spicy, salty or very hot food and drink.
- No lipstick, lip fillers, kissing or picking while healing.
- If you are prone to cold sores, speak to your pharmacist or GP before your appointment.
- Come back for your second session as booked.
Semi-permanent eyeliner
- Some swelling around the eyes is normal for a day or two.
- Keep the area dry and avoid eye make-up for 7 days.
- Do not rub or pick, and avoid swimming, saunas and sunbeds while healing.
- Wear glasses instead of contact lenses for a few days if you can.
Waxing and threading
- Avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms and swimming for 24 hours.
- Avoid the gym and heavy sweating for 24 hours.
- Wear loose clothing over waxed areas.
- No perfumed products, fake tan or make-up on the area for 24 hours.
- Avoid sunbeds and strong sun for 48 hours.
- Gently exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week from day 3 to help prevent ingrown hairs.
Facials, dermaplaning and micro-needling
- Your skin may look a little pink after your treatment. This usually settles within a day.
- Keep make-up off for at least 12 hours, and 24 hours after micro-needling.
- Avoid exfoliants, retinol and acids for 3 to 5 days.
- Avoid saunas, steam, swimming and heavy exercise for 24 hours.
- Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser, and wear SPF 30 or higher every day.
Plasma, skin tag, spot, wart and mole removal
- Small scabs or dark marks will form. Let them fall off on their own, usually within 7 to 10 days. Do not pick them.
- Keep the area clean and dry. Avoid make-up on the area until it has healed.
- Avoid sunbeds and direct sun, and use SPF 50 on the area once the scabs have gone.
- Avoid saunas, swimming and heavy sweating until healed.
- If you notice increasing redness, heat, swelling or pus, contact us and speak to your GP or pharmacist.
Gel, BIAB, acrylic and nail extensions
- Use cuticle oil daily to keep nails and skin healthy.
- Wear gloves for cleaning and washing up.
- Do not use your nails as tools, and do not pick or peel off gel or extensions. It damages your natural nails.
- If a nail lifts or chips, contact us. Keeping it dry until it is fixed helps.
- Book your infill or removal every 2 to 3 weeks. Always come in for removal.
Pedicures
- Wear open-toe shoes or flip-flops for an hour after a normal polish pedicure to avoid smudging.
- Moisturise your feet daily to keep skin soft.
- Avoid very hot baths for a few hours after your treatment.
